By Ustaz Tarmizi, Safinah.sg & Ustazah Sharifah Maimunah, SemanticsOnline.net
~ This day was the 1st time I heard Ustazah Maimunah speak. Ya Allah, I can't never stop thanking you for bringing her into my life. ~
1st Speaker: Ustazah Maimunah Alhabshi
Why are we here?
Two main Surah stating our purpose on Earth:
Surah Ad-Dzaariyaat:56: "I have only created jinns & men, that they may serve me. No sustenance do I require that they should feed me. For Allah is He who gives all Sustenance- Lord of Power, Steadfast forever."
Surah Al-Bayyinah: "They have been commanded no more than these: To worship Allah, offer sincere devotion, being true in faith, practise regular prayers, regular charity & Islam is a religion which is straight & right."
What is the proof of Allah's existence?
The proof is self-evident eg the Universe, Earth, rain, shine, scientific matters- the creations of our creator, Allah.
How do we worship Allah 24/7?
All our acts have to be halal and our main intention is to seek Allah's pleasure at the end of the day. Eg Majority of our time is at work & our main intention is to feed, provide shelter etc for our parents & family. Allah loves the believers who love spending on their family.
What are the 3 LOVES of a Worshiper?
1) Always love Allah first
2) Love towards our fellow mankind (parents, family, relatives esp), animals, nature surrounding us. Avoid strained relationships with others.
3) Love yourself! Project positive aura, good hygience, remove anger & impatience frm our heart.
What are the 5 conditions of being a slave of Allah?
1) Love Allah
2) Obedience towards Allah's commands
3) Act with sincerity
4) Trust Allah & don't ever give up on Allah.
5) Terms of Slavery- by being a slave we are already accepting the fact that there are certain terms/rules that we need to follow to please our Master
2nd Speaker: Ustaz Tarmizi
A story of a parrot who was kept as a pet. In order to get out of the cage, it played dead. While the owner was digging its grave, it flew away.
Moral of the story: Sometimes in life, we need to keep out and cut off all the worldly distractions for a while (death metaphor applies here) in order to focus on the more important things; like our duties, responsibilities and purpose.
Story abt Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) who was commanded by Allah to bring down Pharaoh. Musa was faced with uncertainties & lack of confidence to face the villain Pharaoh. Prophet Musa prayed to Allah for the right path & also got help from his brother Prophet Harun who would speak for him when Musa's speech impediment prevented him.
Story abt Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) who suffered in the hands of his own brothers & was separated from his family. He was also jailed despite being innocent. His ability to predict dreams made him an advisor to the King. He was subsequently reunited with his family.
Moral of the Prophets' stories:
We should always look for help to Allah and then seek out for people who would support us in pursuing and accomplishing our dreams. There also needs to be lots of patience, persistence and perseverance. And in every other situation, faith in Allah's help is key.
Amin. Looking forward to more inspiring and enriching talks organised by Safinah.sg.
