Dec 2010 - Early 2011: The Ship of Salvation's Book Discussion by Ustazah Maimunah Alhabshi. Organised by Tradisi Halaqah.
~ I simply loved the ambiance of this Halaqah session- About 15 sisters enjoying a discussion of the book entitled, The Ship of Salvation: The principles and jurisprudence of the school of Imam Al-Shafi’i.
Before we started on the book, each of us would share our reflection or take-aways from the previous sessions. Thereafter we learned about Wuduk & Sholat. Here are my take-aways :
Before we started on the book, each of us would share our reflection or take-aways from the previous sessions. Thereafter we learned about Wuduk & Sholat. Here are my take-aways :
- Wuduk is a form of worship. - Since then, I internalised the process of taking Wuduk, esp after watching video of Shaykha Khatri performing wudu.
- Any action without intention is accidental. - Doing things for the sake of Allah.
- Sharing session on why we put on hijab. - One of the reasons that stick to my mind is we are helping our fellow brothers in Islam, to minimize their gaze.
- Bring our level of action up to our level of knowledge. - Act on the knowledge.
- If we feel that we are far away from Allah, who has actually moved away? Allah is always there for us and He has provided us the guidance through Quran & Hadith.
- Level of certainty in Allah makes all humans different. - When I'm certain of Allah's help, love, mercy, guidance, He will certainly provide.
- Islam is not only about me, but my community. - Felt so heartened to see my sisters reverting to Allah and experiencing what I am experiencing.
- Sholat is a barrier to prevent us from committing sins.
- Being sincere is when your action in private and public are the same.
- Take care of our sholat, all other matters will be taken care of by Allah.
